Summer 2015 Hot Wheels Acquistions

Since beginning to collect and starting this blog last summer, this is about the 50th Hot Wheels haul, and what a fun ride it's been! Above are some N and P-case castings I found just tonight, and with only the Q-case left to go this year, I thought I'd compile some of my summer acquisitions into a  little slide show. After the initial K-Day haul I posted on this past Saturday, I picked a few more from a K-Mart on the other end of the county, for a grand total of 27 cars! K-Mart HW Collectors Day- Feb. 14th, 2015

I participated in my first ever K-Mart HW Collectors Day, my number drawn from the bucket for a first look into a fresh box of Hot Wheels from an "F" case! Participants were allowed to choose five castings within the 5 minute allotted time, in which I took the Volkswagen Caddy, K-Mart exclusive yellow Datsun 620 pickup, '69 Ford Mustang Boss 302, dark chrome '89 Batmobile, and the Homer Simpson. When the tables were opened for everyone, I picked out sixteen other cars so I can mail off the required 20 cards and receipt to receive the 2015 Collector Edition '71 El Camino featured on the spec card handed out at the event. The crowd was having fun and glad to see each other on Saturday morning- see my video:

Oct 2014 HOT WHEELS eBay Haul

I organize my Hot Wheels collection digitally by "haul", this being the 27th. I'd found a seller with decent combined shipping while on the lookout for more variants of the Asphalt Assault, and decided to picked up a few more that piqued my interest, including but not limited to four Overbored 454 castings. I'd never seen this car, but like the Twinduction, it's blown engine erupting through the hood and American Muscle looks appeal to me greatly. I haven't shown a haul this large all at once, so I thought a little video would make this easier... enjoy:

I picked up some cars from the last decade on eBay from Diecast USA, and was impressed with the timely delivery, excellent packing, good prices, and free shipping with a purchase of eight or more cars. I was only looking for another Scorcher, but found many more I liked...

K-Mart Hot Wheels Collector Day Haul

Picked up a nice little haul of Hot Wheels at K-Mart on Collector Day, Saturday Sept. 13th, including three of  the four exclusive deco cars, the amazon green '83 Chevy Silverado, sky blue '69 Corvette, and orange metal flake Lotus Evora GT4. No sign of the '71 Dodge Challenger in micro lavender, which I'm certain was highly sought after, but I did luck out and find the first to market releases of the '86 Monte Carlo and metal flake red Aston Martin. Several other Hot Wheels rolled home with me that I'd not yet seen, including the 2015   Ford Mustang GT (pictured above), an orange Porsche 934 Turbo, a few black Dodge Charger Drift HWPD cars I'd been eagerly awaiting, and more!

2013 HW Showroom Cars

There's a K-Mart in the Northwest region of the county that I've collected numerous castings from 2013 and 2012 at, where I recently found what appeared to be new, older stock. I'd been through those pegs at least three or four times, so I'm certain I hadn't missed them- an employee must have uncovered these among stray merchandise in back and put them out. Lucky me.

'92 and '07 Ford Mustangs
I found two of this pair in green, leaving the other for some other lucky duck. I love that Mattel dropped both in complementary decos- wonderful! The '92 has the retro hood design, cueing me to their individuality on the pegs, which I had to inspect more closely to detect...

I actually have quite the garage full of Ford Mustang castings after my summer of collecting Hot Wheels, including this yellow '99 Mustang that came with a HW 3-pack...

1987 Toyota Pickup
I love the wheels on this truck, though the color scheme seems more 1980 than 1987. That opinion matters little next to the nostalgia felt looking at it- what a great piece! The wheels look great in vac-metal, like the undercarriage extending through the bumpers at both ends, and the body graphics are '80s all the way...

'69 Ford Torino Talladega & '70 Chevelle SS Wagon

I love the long and low profile on these two! The Torino's color scheme looks period accurate, and the flat black & yellow on the Chevelle Wagon is really an attention-getter with it's matching rims. Bot cars benefit from their vac-metal bases extending into the front & rear bumpers. Two very cool Hot Wheels cars...

And last, but certainly not least, this bad black beauty! Lots of nice details in the multiple tampos throughout the body and interior, with that irresistible, high-gloss black finish... tough!
