HW '71 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon, Custom '62 Chevy Pickup (2017)

Lucked out recently finding  this HW '71 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon and Custom '62 Chevy Pickup  from the 2017 M and L-Cases. Along with a few other choice pieces, these two were tucked behind some boxes on a Target end cap! Someone either had to abort their hunt unexpectedly, or intended to return later. Below, the yellow 2015 G-Case Datsun Bluebird Wagon and 2015 E-Case Custom Chevy Pickup next to their most recent variations. I hate that Mattel removed the plastic surfboard from the Chevy Pickup, but the color presentation and deco was too good to pass on, and I don't mind the sunroof...

HW BMW M4 & '71 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon (2015 G-Case)

I've been collecting cars so fast that I've neglected to show much from my an earlier G-case haul this past spring, the extra-cool Hot Wheels BMW M4 and '71 Bluebird Wagon of particular interest to me. Below, the yellow 2015 G-case Datsun Bluebird with the earlier red 2014 Q-case Datsun Bluebird, the latter quite scarcely seen in these parts. Oddly, I actually found another red Bluebird on an international card in a local grocery store only a few weeks ago...

Loved this Datsun 240Z casting, modeled after the early 1970's American release of Nissan's Fairlady Z. Popular among Hot Wheels collectors, this Phil Riehlman designed casting was first released in 2006, there have been 16  variations, including a Treasure Hunt and Super Treasure Hunt.

HW Datsun 620 Pickup & Bluebird 510 Wagon

Only this past weekend was I fortunate enough to finally find the coveted '71 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon, and serendipitously stumbled across a few of the red 620 pickups released earlier this summer. Perfect! Check out the video:

I originally passed on the 2014 red 620 pickup, but later snagged the 2015 green 620 pickup, sorry that I'd let it go months before. There's a blue and orange version of this '72 Datsun pickup as well, but felt fortunate to get these- it's popularity seems to have grown among collectors...

HW 2015 Datsun 620, Sharkruiser, Kool Kombi, & Bread Box

Love these 2015 models I picked up back in November- great colors and pure fun!

I have another Kool Kombi Volkswagen Van that I found this past summer, but was on the lookout for this 2015 aqua Surf Shop model- so great!

First released in 1987, the Sharkruiser came back in 1994 to see over a dozen more releases up to this 2015 lime green model. I also have some other Sharkruisers I'll need to compare this with in the future...

This Bread Box looks like something Timothy Leary or Ken Kesey & the Merry Pranksters would have rode around in... far out graphics, man...   :D

I mildly regret not buying the red Datsun 620 pick-up that came out, but this green one with '70s looking body graphics is way better. Wonderful casting and deco that goes nicely with the new Bread Box pictured above...

I think the palm tree from my Speed Junction playset is a fitting accessory for these cars- very California   :)
