HW Batmobile & Batboat

In memory of recently departed actor Adam West, this HW Classic TV Series Batmobile & Batboat in 1:50 scale I picked up last summer. I've said before that the camp was lost on me watching the syndicated reruns as a boy in the '70s, seeing only the colorful adventures of my favorite heroes, the Dynamic Duo. I'm sure I can speak for my generation when I say that while I was a big fan of multiple incarnations of the character, Adam West was my first Batman. Check out the video:

HW 2016 Batman v Superman Series Chase: Overbored 454

Ran into a STACK of these Batman v Superman Series chase Overbored 454 cards at a local Walmart! I took this one and left the rest for the kids, hopefully, and not for some scalper. I'm a fan of the casting, but appreciate the wild livery and card graphics. Check out the video:

HW Batman Dark Knight 3-pack

I found this 3-pack for three bucks last month at Big Lots- I believe it's from 2012. Batman is probably my all-time favorite comic book hero, and I got into collecting Hot Wheels last year while searching for The Batman Batmobile. I already had a few Batmobiles, so it was a natural progression into the hobby. While the Tumbler isn't my favorite version of the famous car, the Christopher Nolan movies did add realism to Batman's gadgetry. Keaton was my Batman, and I liked his car better, but this little 3-pack has enough going for it... the Joker Bone Shaker alone was worth the price of admission...

The Bone Shaker with it's retro graphics don't really fit with the realistic/movie theme of the Fusion cop car and Tumbler, but it's definitely the most exciting. The stock Bone Shaker skull has been replaced by a custom "Joker" face on the nose-  so great!

The Joker Bone Shaker has a similar color presentation to my purple Screamliner...

The Joker Bone Shaker with a couple of my HW 2014 mainline Bone Shakers...

I recently passed on the camouflage version of this Tumbler, and recently picked up the much cooler Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile, but it's okay. The small wheels and plain deco/flat finish leave me somewhat underwhelmed. It could be that Mattel completely disregarded the vehicle's design, though it's better in person ...

The Tumbler with some of my other Batmobiles...

I don't know if the Ford Fusion was actually used in the movie for the Gotham City Police cars, but it's a decent enough cop car, if slightly plain...

...I prefer the HWPD Dodge Charger Drift cars...

...Batman and Lt. Gordon better floor it or the Joker will get away!

Hot Wheels 2015 "C" Case Brave & the Bold Batmobile

I found this 2015 "C" Case Brave & the Bold Batmobile on a New Years Day Hot Wheels hunt, a car from perhaps my favorite animated Batman Series. This time it's in dark blue with light blue pinstriping, and FTE2 (Faster Than Ever) wheels with silver spokes. Check out the video:

This 2015 Batmobile is a nice variation on the original design, which I picked up last year on a Batman 75th Anniversary card. I have several dozen of the action figures & a few of the vehicles from this animated show as well- loved it!

HW Batmobile Video Review!

After waiting patiently for some time, a trip to Target last weekend revealed two of the new 2015 HW '89 Batmobile, one of which I left on the peg for some other lucky kid I hope. I love it! This thrilled me so much that I made a video of some of the HW Batmobiles I've collected in the last few months since getting into diecast cars and starting the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog...

Of interest concerning the '66 TV Batmobile featured in the video, I also have have the 2012 Batman Series release with blue-tinted windows. Contrary to popular consent, I actually prefer the tinted windows. As author of the Super-DuperToyBox, my interest in Batman & his famous car predate my adult diecast collecting. The popular syndicated television series was a favorite since my '70s childhood, and George Barris' customized '55 Ford Lincoln Futura concept car captured my young imagination then as it does today...

The influence of the red and black '66 Batmobile deco is apparent to this day, utilized in the Brave & The Bold Batmobile, and even the more recent repaint of the 2015 HW '89 Batmobile...

HW 75th Anniversary Batmobiles

I was somewhat surprised upon finding a Hot Wheels Batman 75th Anniversary dump bin at the local Wal-Mart after work on Friday, for $0.84 each nonetheless. I picked two of the eight available that were favorite portrayals of the Dark Knight Detective, the '89 Batman film and Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series Batmobiles. Mattel has released both these castings in the past, but they are new to my collection...

This '89 Batman Batmobile isn't the coveted 2015 version I've been on the lookout for, but was cool enough for me to pick up. The front end is drastically exaggerated, but it works well on this Batmobile...

The Hot Wheels 75th Anniversary '89 Batman Batmobile with my Mattel 4" '89 Batman action figure...

I  always loved the retro appeal Brave & the Bold Batmobile, the design of which pays tribute to several eras of the legendary car. The red pinstriping recalls the '66 Barris Batmobile detailing, the hood vents an homage to the Batman the Animated series Batmobile, and the bat-faced front end and fin remind me of the 1940s Batmobile. While I'm not a fan of the wheels Mattel used on this car, the design of this particular Batmobile has a lot going for it...
