Beginning Batmobile

The inaugural post here on the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog, I'll explain that this whole new obsession began recently while on the hunt for the new 2014 Hot Wheels Batmobile, modeled after the car featured on The Batman animated television show. As the author of the Super-DuperToyBox, and as such a fan of the Caped Crusader, I'd picked up a few Batmobiles of different size and model over the last four years. Upon finding the car, I lingered awhile longer near the Hot Wheels aisle as I do from time to time while hunting action figures- to my surprise, I left the store having purchased an armful of other Hot Wheels along with my Batmobile! As the week wore on, I'd compulsively amassed several dozen I liked, and launched the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog by the end of it!

A look at a few of the Hot Wheels Batmobiles I already had- the long germinating seeds of my fun new hobby...

'66 TV and Arkham Asylum 1:64 Scale Batmobiles:

1980's and 1940's 1:50 Scale Batmobiles

So here we are! This is mostly new subject matter to me, as my focus at the Super-DuperToyBox is comics and action figures, so I hope I'll offer a fresh set of eyes to the Hot Wheels collector community. Join me, won't you... ?
Make It FAST- Make It FUN!

  1. FUN! I remember the dark ages - back before there were any Hot Wheels Batmobiles at all! Then the few years leading up to the '66 being released. Oh, the anticipation!

It's incredible nowadays that there are so many Hot Wheel Batmobiles from so many of the vehicle's media interpretations.

If you don't already have the Brave and the Bold version, I recommend you track it down. It is one of the best!

  2. I must admit to being tempted to scour through those discounted Hot Wheels bins, looking for something cool !Not only do the pop culture themed cars impress, but so do some of the regular vehicles. I don't know If I'll ever collect them but I'll certainly be adding the new blog to my sidebar ;)

  3. It's easy to get lured into the world of Hot Wheels and with good reason there are some awesomely cool ones out there to buy! I wish Mattel would do a Speed Buggy or a Super Mobile sometime that i think would be sweet.
